An urgent request for prayer following the Bondi Beach attack.
Dear friends,
We wanted to write to you today with a heavy heart, following the tragic events at Bondi Beach. Many of you will have seen the news and will be feeling shock and sorrow for the Jewish community in Sydney.
Two of our IMJP missionaries, Rahel and Mark, live just five minutes from where the attack took place. We are thankful to share that they are physically unharmed. However, like many in their community, they are deeply affected by what has happened and are grieving alongside friends, neighbours, and those who were present at the event.
Rahel and Mark have asked for prayer. They are asking that, in the days ahead, they will be a source of support, compassion, and quiet strength to those they know who were there, and to others who are hurting, fearful, or affected by this attack on the Jewish community.
They also ask that you would pray for open doors to share the hope of Jesus, through their words, and also through their presence, kindness and faithfulness, as trust is built in a time of pain.
Please join us in praying for comfort for the bereaved, peace for the wider Jewish community, wisdom for leaders, and for God’s light to shine even in this terrible darkness.
Thank you for standing with us in prayer.
With gratitude and hope,
Joseph Steinberg
