New Life for Mario at Passover

Sergio talking to a woman during the in the cities outreach

Our missionary in Rio de Janeiro, Sergio Danon, was recently invited to speak to a group of pastors about his ministry. After the meeting, a number of them made bookings for him to speak to their congregations. One of the meetings was booked urgently for the following morning.

The pastor explained that a Jewish man had been in touch and said that he would be visiting the church the next day. The pastor asked Sergio to be there. Sergio, who was only too happy to oblige, also agreed to put on a Gospel in the Passover presentation. Good to his word, the Jewish man – Mario – arrived at the meeting and listened intently to all that Sergio had to share.

WANTED TO BEGIN

At the end of the meeting, Mario approached Sergio and the pastor. He had been so moved by what he had heard that he wanted to begin following Jesus!

The pastor asked Sergio if he would pray with Mario as he professed faith in Jesus, turning to the Saviour in repentance and faith.

After the meeting, Sergio learned that Mario had a Jewish father and Roman Catholic mother but had been raised Jewish. He had been so excited to see Jesus all the way through the Passover demonstration and had no idea that there were so many clear links to Jesus in this Jewish festival.

THRILLED BY UNEXPECTED PROFESSION

Thrilled by this Jewish man’s unexpected profession, Sergio arranged to meet up with Mario the following week so that he could begin discipling him regularly.

Please pray for Mario as he learns more about his Saviour and for Sergio as he disciples this new Jewish believer over the coming weeks and months.
