Recently, one of our missionaries in Israel, Misha, shared an update about a man named Oded that I thought would encourage you.

Misha first met Oded years ago through a Russian-speaking club. At the time, Oded considered himself an atheist. Yet over many years of friendship, Bible study, and honest conversation, something began to change.

After years of reading Scripture together and discussing the life of Jesus, Oded said something Misha never expected to hear:

“Do you see, Misha? I am no longer an atheist.”

That’s the response of many Jewish people in Israel — especially in the midst of war and conflict with Iran. They want God to save their lives. And, like Oded, they’re more open to the gospel than they ever have been.

Today, Oded is facing significant health challenges and currently resides in a hospital care unit. Misha continues to visit him, pray with him, and share God's Word.

During a recent visit, Misha brought several Bible verses printed in large type so Oded could read them more easily. As he read Jesus' promise in John 3:16, Oded paused in surprise and wondered at the words: “whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Oded has not yet placed his faith in Jesus. But he listens carefully. And he asks questions. He welcomes Misha's visits and wants the conversations to continue.

Stories like this remind me that God is always at work — and that gospel ministry often requires a faithful and patience presence . . . and can take years to bear fruit.

Thank you for helping make these conversations possible. Your faithful support enables missionaries like Misha to continue sharing the hope of the gospel with Jewish people throughout Israel.
