From suicide to salvation
PLEASE PRAY FOR: Cameron
MISSIONARY: Igal Vender
LOCATION: Tel Aviv, Israel
When Cameron arrived at Igal’s outreach café looking for food, he was not in a good mood. Igal sat down with him as he ate and they began discussing spiritual things.
Cameron asked, ‘If God exists, why does he let me suffer like this - living on the streets and addicted to drugs?’ Igal explained that he had a similar background and how it wasn’t until someone told him about God’s great love through Jesus that things finally turned around for him.
Cameron protested that he was Jewish and Jesus was just for Christians, so Igal opened his Bible to Matthew’s Gospel and showed him that Jesus is also the Jewish Messiah. He also shared his testimony, explaining how Jesus had rescued him from a life of drugs and crime. He told Cameron how he met the Saviour through a rehabilitation house run by his church. Igal invited him to go there and get help.
Cameron started crying and told Igal he had hit rock bottom. He shared how, that very day, he had wanted to take his own life and end it all. He had no purpose in life and didn’t want to continue. Igal drove Cameron straight to the rehabilitation house.
At the house, Cameron’s attitude toward Jesus changed through daily Bible studies with Igal. Recently, he approached Igal saying he knew God had brought him to the house to save him. He wanted to make peace with God through the Messiah Jesus.
Igal rejoiced as Cameron went on to pray, repenting of his sin and beginning his journey with Jesus!
For your prayers...
Please pray for Cameron as he is now discipled by Igal and grows in the love and knowledge of his Saviour.
Please pray for Igal as he brings the Good News of Jesus to Jewish people like Cameron, battling addictions and living in desperate conditions on the streets of Tel Aviv.
