From doubt to declaration

Sergio had been witnessing to Michael since May. Despite being open to what Sergio was sharing, Michael always hesitated when it came to Jesus. He acknowledged that the Gospel of John is written to demonstrate Jesus' divinity, but this was, according to Michael, ‘only in John’. So they began looking at the rest of God's Word together.
Sergio also shared a 90-minute video testimony from a Brazilian pastor who had once been part of a unitarian cult but now embraces the biblical doctrine of the Trinity.
The following week, when they spoke again, both the video and certain passages of God's Word had deeply challenged Michael – especially Isaiah 9:6. Sergio asked him how this child, this Son, could at the same time be called ‘Mighty God’, ‘Everlasting Father’, and ‘Prince of Peace’. How could such titles co-exist? A deep conversation on the subject followed.
By the end, Michael was left speechless and reluctantly conceded that Sergio’s reasoning was sound. Yet he still wrestled with personal doubts. So, Sergio showed him more biblical evidence.
Eventually, Michael looked at Sergio and suddenly confessed: ‘After all the overwhelming evidence, I can no longer deny the deity of Jesus!’
At their next meeting, Michael’s fiancée, who is a believer, was present. Sergio asked whether Michael had mentioned his confession to her, but he hadn’t.
Sergio asked whether he had been serious at their previous meeting, and Michael again affirmed his faith in Jesus. This time however, Michael prayed a heartfelt prayer of repentance in his own words. This not only moved Sergio but brought his fiancée to tears. When they marry soon, they will not only become one flesh but also share one faith in Jesus.

Give thanks for Michael's profession, praying he will grow in his knowledge and love of Jesus as Sergio disciples him. Please also pray for Michael and his fiancée as they prepare for marriage.
Please pray for Sergio as he continues to reach out to Jewish people like Michael through personal evangelism and street outreaches.
